The challenge facing artisan crafts in Spain
Throughout my years as an architect, I have been fortunate to work alongside many artisans: carpenters, blacksmiths, marble masons, upholsterers... People whose hands turn matter into art.
But I have also watched many of the crafts that form part of our cultural identity slowly disappear.
That is why this project was born: to give value to contemporary craftsmanship and build a bridge between those who design, those who make, and those who love objects with soul.
At Diago Home we create unique furniture together with local artisans and dedicate part of our profits to grants that help train the next generation of makers.
This is not just a furniture store. It is the beginning of a movement that seeks to give design and craftsmanship back the leading role they should never have lost.
Diago Home Grants
Faced with this challenge, Diago Home was born with the mission of preserving and dignifying artisan crafts in Spain, and of training a new generation of master artisans.
To that end we launched the «Becas Diago Home» grant programme, training apprentices in collaboration with the IES León Felipe school in Torrejón de Ardoz, funding and facilitating access to learning for these young talents.

Wood as a legacy
In workshops in Madrid and Toledo, where the scent of wood mingles with the calm of work done well, our cabinetmakers carry on a craft that has been passed down from generation to generation.
Raised among shavings and carpenter's benches, they learned from childhood to read the grain, to let each board speak, and to respect the rhythms of the wood.
Today, that inherited knowledge joins contemporary design to bring unique pieces to life, handmade with precision and sensitivity. Because in every piece of furniture there is more than function: there is history, technique, and a way of understanding beauty through the essential.
Marble mason
The soul of stone
From the depths of the earth, where the sun warms the veins and time has chiselled landscapes of marble and natural stone, comes the work of our marble mason.
He knows every vein, every shade, and how to bring out the best in materials that have lain underground for centuries. His craft, learned over the years and handed down through generations, combines technique, precision and respect for the raw material. Because every surface holds not just design, but geological memory, the heritage of the land, and a knowledge that knows nothing of haste.

Hands that dress comfort
In the upholstery workshops on the outskirts of Madrid, the work is done by hand, with the patience and precision that only experience brings.
These are family businesses where the art of upholstery has been passed down for generations, preserving techniques that stand the test of time. There, every stitch, every fold, every chosen fabric tells a story of care, craft and sensitivity.
They are the ones who give shape to comfort, wrapping our pieces in noble textiles and know-how, so that every sofa not only looks right, but feels like a place you always want to return to.
